DMX color picker and HEX to DMX converter. Get RGB, RGBW, RGBWA, and RGBWW/CW DMX values with optional CCT channel calculation.
Convert color to DMX values fast
Use HEX, RGB sliders, or CCT to get clean DMX channel values for common fixture types. Optimized whites keep pastel and neutral tones accurate without changing saturated colors.
How to use the DMX color picker
- Enter a HEX color or dial in RGB with the sliders.
- Choose your fixture type (RGB, RGBW, RGBWA, or RGBWW/CW).
- Optional: add a CCT value for white channel fixtures or RGB mixing.
- Copy the 8-bit or 16-bit channel values.

Frequently asked questions
Does this work for RGBW and RGBWW/CW fixtures?
Yes. The tool can extract neutral whites for RGBW and split warm/cool white channels when your fixture supports WW/CW.
Why does my white look pinkish?
Pure RGB mixes can tint white. The Optimize whites option uses a white LED for near-neutral and pastel colors while preserving saturated hues.
Do you output 16-bit values?
Yes. You get both 8-bit and 16-bit values plus coarse and fine channels for fixtures that use fine control.
Can I use CCT for RGB fixtures?
Yes. If your fixture does not have WW/CW channels, the tool blends RGB values to approximate the chosen color temperature.
DMX color conversion notes
White channel guardrails
White is only used for near-neutral or pastel colors. Saturated hues stay pure RGB so your intent is preserved.
Warm vs cool white
For RGBWW/CW fixtures, warm and cool whites are blended based on the target color temperature.
Coarse vs fine channels
Use coarse-only for 8-bit control, or include fine channels when your fixture supports 16-bit precision.
Amber handling
Amber is used conservatively for warm tones.
